Urakawa Jenkins Architecture

Red Room Residence

Small spaces are always challenging, but when well designed, the results can be striking.
An inner city terrace house with contrasting expanding and contracting spaces gives heightened drama.

The bathroom envelopes the occupant with gloss red wall tiles and the Japan black stained timber.

The material palette is unadorned and robust - polished concrete, bamboo and timber.
The rusted corten steel courtyard screen has a mass of green vines behind it.

Overlapping functions make the most of small spaces.
